Do Now Writing Prompt 5/5/15

Woodshop
If I was a teacher I would apply to our curriculum a course of Woodshop. I think it would be a creative, and more fun way for students to make art with their own imagination. Also, to express themselves in using wood and power tools. The class would meet after school in a classroom that provides space, and a whole bunch of plugs. The students would begin making wood projects, and to start of they would start making small things like jewelry boxes. However, towards the middle of the year, the projects begin to increase in size and difficulty.
Towards the end of the year the students will then have to make for a big project, a real life doll house, consisting of using different power tools and all the methods of cutting wood they have learned throughout the year, while still using their imagination for the designs. Throughout this class, of course, the class will smell like wood, and a few students will feel blisters on their fingers, if they begin to rub the harsh rugged wood. The wood does not sound like anything, however, if it gets sawed, or cut, then it will sound like very hard pieces of strong wood are beginning to be cut.
