- It's a head-mounted holographic computer made from Microsoft.
- In the very near future it will be used to compute in the physical world, using voice and gesture to summon data and layer it atop physical objects.
- The prototype amplifies the special powers the kinect introduced, using a small fraction of the energy.
- The depth camera has a field of vision of 120 by 120 degrees so it can sense what the hands are doing even when they are nearly outstretched.
- Sensors flood the device with terabytes of data every second, all managed with an onboard CPU. GPU, and HPU (holographic processing unit).
- Is able to run any app that a Windows 10 PC (will come out when HoloLens does) or phone can do as long as the holomagic UI is programmed in.
- Is no oculus, and it is untethered
- Brings forth virtual things to our real life.
- The final version will be small, light, and tether- free set of glasses you wear on your head
- The funds for making the glasses was $592 million dollars.
